Mindtera, a personal growth learning platform, raised seed funding led by East Ventures

August 24, 2021

Mindtera announced that it has secured an undisclosed seed funding round from East Ventures, with the participation from Silicon Valley-based Hustle Fund, Henry Hendrawan and other prominent angels from Tech industry.

The investment will accelerate Mindtera’s mission to help people live their best lives by increasing awareness and providing access to curated personal growth learning curriculums across key areas of life – family, love and work: “Keluarga, Cinta, Kerja”.

According to the Harvard Business Review (HBR), Emotional intelligence (EQ) is twice as important as other skills to achieve personal growth and well-being, be it at home or at work. Traditionally, schools and even edutechs have been focusing on hard skills. However, there are hardly any solutions available focusing on helping individuals improve their EQ in a structured manner to better navigate through life. Especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, EQ is all the more important to help society adapt with the unprecedented change and uncertainty. Mindtera aims to target this imbalance by designing and building its product around its proprietary multiple-intelligence approach.

“As the first institutional VC-funded personal growth learning platform in Indonesia, we want to bring life-changing content to more corporates and people. Expect accessibility, relevance and community in new digital formats that will improve Indonesia’s and the region’s personal well-being quotient,” explained Tita Ardiati, CEO and Co-founder of Mindtera.

The company aims to deliver emotional, social and physical intelligences in bite-sized digital formats for both individual and corporate clients. Mindtera’s proprietary multiple-intelligence curriculum and tools have been validated scientifically and clinically by coaches, educators and psychologists. In addition, it will also build communities as a daily support system for its clients.

“The fresh funding will be used to strengthen the product and technology team, launch more exciting features, accelerate brand awareness, and build capacity in responding to market needs. We welcome passionate talents to join us on this journey!” said Bayu Bhaskoro, CMO and Co-founder of Mindtera.

Its founders, Tita Ardiati and Bayu Bhaskoro, bring their expertise to Mindtera. Tita is a certified life coach who has spent more than 500 hours with 100 clients and also a senior statistician with more than 14 years of work experience in multinational research agencies, such as YouGov and Nielsen, and a social enterprise startup. On the other hand, Bayu worked as an award-winning creative senior professional with more than 10 years of experience in multinational advertising agencies, such as Leo Burnett, Y&R, and JWT. Currently, Mindtera has 15 employees including product, engineering, life coaches, psychologists and content creative team.

Melisa Irene, Partner of East Ventures says, “Tita deeply understands the issues our mass young society is facing. We believe Mindtera will pave the way to change our societal understanding about holistic intelligence, and equip people with the right tools so they can achieve fulfillment in life.”

Shiyan Koh, General Partner & Co-founder of Hustle Fund added, “We are proud to back Tita and the Mindtera team as they are tackling one of the most important societal problems; helping humans live their best lives and equipping them with the skills to build strong and resilient relationships with their communities.”
