EV Growth Expanded its Team with Major Hires

EV Growth, a joint venture between East Ventures, SMDV, and Yahoo! Japan Capital focused on providing growth capital to startups in Indonesia and the rest of Southeast Asia, welcomed David Fernando Audy as Operating Partner.

David has over 18 years of executive experience in the media and content industry. He was the CEO of PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN IJ), a publicly listed leading media conglomerate in Indonesia, and was a Director of PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR IJ), also a publicly listed operating company in the field of DTH Satellite Pay-TV operator and Broadband ISP. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to ThreeBody Capital, a UK-based Investment Fund for publicly traded securities. David is also the former CEO of WeChat Indonesia, Director for Rakuten Indonesia and the founder of Okezone.com, one of the most read news portals in Indonesia.

EV Growth is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mulyono Xu and Pascal Christian-Sarana as the fund’s VPs of Investment.

As a graduate of Zhejiang University, located in Hangzhou, China, Mulyono started his career in top Chinese companies, Huawei and Alibaba, which are in the E-Commerce and Internet Industries respectively. Mulyono has over 10 years of experience in the Internet industry. He was heavily involved in most of the Alibaba Southeast Asia’s M&A and Strategic Partnerships with Lazada, Tokopedia, eWTP, etc. He continued his journey within Alibaba in a more operational role as Taobao Malaysia’s Country Manager and in Lazada Indonesia’s C-suite.

Prior to joining EV Growth, Mulyono was the Managing Director at BAce Capital, leading 3 Series A deals and few earlier stage deals in the region.

On the other hand, Pascal has 7 years of cross-border deal execution, investment structuring, and M&A advisory experience. Prior to joining EV Growth, he was a director at Rocket Internet and led the proptech investment mandate in Indonesia. He started his finance career as an investment banker at Barclays in Singapore, where he covered Southeast Asia M&A. Pascal holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine from Universitas Padjadjaran and also has an MBA from Cornell University.
