The incubation program for startups and innovators in the healthcare space. This program is aimed to advance healthcare quality through innovation in healthtech and biotech in Indonesia. Interested applicants can apply to get opportunities to pitch ideas and innovative products to the government, healthcare industry players, and academics community.

Terms and Conditions of Participants

  • No age limit (members aged <17 years need to include a statement)
  • Register as an individual or a group consisting 2-5 people
  • Team members can be from Indonesia (WNI) or from other countries (WNA)
  • Have a prototype or MVP stage product concept
  • Committed to participate through the entire series of events
  • If there are members of the team who are representatives of international organizations / Foreign Citizens (WNA), the main advocacy group must have a legal entity in Indonesia
  • Teams with members across expertise or sectors and working with universities brings more value

Track Biotech

Information Technology for support in precision medicine

Develop new tools to analyze genomic data, develop new drugs or create new diagnostic tests.

Integrated Laboratory Information and Management System

Prepare a platform/software designed to manage and automate laboratory operations, data management, and sample tracking in the genome sequence analysis process to support the lab and sample preparation process

Product development based on genome sequencing for the healthcare or biotech industries.

Develop platforms or products (with TRL ≥7 and MRL ≥7) that utilize genomic information to improve testing, diagnosis and therapy.

Health Innovation Sprint Accelerator 2023 in collaboration with East Ventures is an incubation program for startups and innovators in the healthcare space. This program is aimed to advance healthcare quality through innovation in healthtech and biotech in Indonesia. Interested applicants can apply to get opportunities to pitch ideas and innovative products to the Government, Healthcare industry players, and academic community. This marks the second year of the sprint accelerator program organized by the Digital Transformation Office of the Ministry of Health in collaboration with East Ventures, a pioneering and leading sector-agnostic and Indonesia-focused venture capital firm.

No, this program is FREE of charge.

Chosen Health Innovation Sprint Accelerator 2023 in collaboration with East Ventures participants will receive:

  • A total of IDR 2,500,000,000 prize pool in uncapped convertible notes for Top 10 startups
  • An opportunity to partner with The Ministry of Health in developing the health biotechnology ecosystem
  • Knowledge sharing with mentors and experts in respective fields
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration network
  • Media coverage
  • Token of appreciation for chosen applicants
  • Opportunities for further collaboration with MOH and other institutions

All selected participants MUST attend technical meetings and webinars, online mentoring sessions, pitching rehearsals, and demo days that will commence. Ecosystem Meet-up activities are NOT REQUIRED for selected participants, but we RECOMMEND they attend if possible. Ecosystem Meet-up activities are open to the public and held face-to-face (offline).

Applicants may submit more than one project or product with different ideas.

The committee upholds the principle of protecting the Intellectual Property Rights of the participants and follows the Creative Commons BY 4.0 guidelines according to the following link: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.id

There are 5 main points considered by the judges in assessing startups and innovators, namely

  • Market attractiveness: Participants can validate market demand from various perspectives, such as price affordability, user demographics, user understanding of the product, and can identify other subjective factors that may affect demand.
  • Product feasibility: The participants have products that are proven to be mature from the point of view of product concepts and technology, strategies or implementation plans in sales and distribution, efficient production lines, and the ability to analyze exchange concepts in producing excellent products.
  • Product advantage: Participants can explain the competitive advantages of products, explain benefits to consumers, explain things that are unique and difficult to replicate by competitors, understand patents, and efforts to market products.
  • Team Competence: Participants can prove that they have a sufficient number of teams, the availability of qualified experts (both in terms of technology, management, marketing, sales, and finance), and make efforts to listen to consumers.
  • Business Sustainability: Participants can prove that the business will be able to survive and be sustainable and have carried out risk analysis and mitigation of business growth.

For pre-demo day activities, participants from Jabodetabek and outside Jabodetabek will join online. Meanwhile, on demo day, offline activities at the main event location shall only be joined by participants from Jabodetabek, while participants outside Jabodetabek can join online. The committee will only provide transportation funds for selected participants in the Jabodetabek area on demo day and will not provide accommodation for participants. Meanwhile, for Ecosystem Meet-up activities, no accommodation or transportation funds are provided for participants.

To be able to attend a series of pre-demo day activities (webinars, mentoring sessions, and pitching rehearsals), participants need to provide a cellphone, laptop, or computer device that can access the internet with a stable connection. The equipment also applies to participants who attend demo days online. Meanwhile, for participants attending demo day offline, please bring your cellphone, laptop, change of clothes, necessary medicines, and other equipment that makes you comfortable while keeping other participants in mind.
