Stickearn Establishes Strategic Partnership with Grab to Launch Stickmart

18 October 2018

Jakarta, 18 October 2018 — StickEarn, an ad tech start-up that connects brands, drivers and costumers to create powerful and memorable advertisement while creating a positive impact for society, in collaboration with Grab – Southeast Asia’s leading O2O (online-to-offline) mobile platform, today launched its newest business solution, StickMart.

StickMart is Indonesia’s first patented in-car commercial platform and is presented in the form of a box that accommodates the need of brands for a unique platform for their product samplings. This box will be placed between the seats of the front passenger and the driver.

StickMart comes equipped with StickTablet, a multimedia device that provides online ride-hailing passengers with the updates from their favorite brands, as well as entertainment video contents that are available during their rides and when they get stuck in traffic congestion. StickTablet displays choices of products stored in the StickMart and allows consumers to pay cash or digitally for their purchases. As for the online taxi drivers, StickMart means a new way to earn an additional income of up to Rp 2,000,000 per month.

Sugito Alim, Co-Founder of StickEarn, explains, “StickMart is a commercial platform that offers efficiency and measurable insights to enhance brands’ business developments. Overall, StickMart is designed to provide more opportunities for brands to get  closer to their consumers; for the passengers to enjoy a premium comfort of traveling with online taxis; and for online taxi drivers to earn extra income.”

StickEarn has Grab as its strategic partner to install StickMart in their fleet. StickEarn’s partnership with Grab Indonesia is the continuation of its agreement as one of GrabAds’ exclusive partners. GrabAds is Grab’s advertising business unit that offers brands the opportunity to boost their engagement with millions of consumers in Southeast Asia through online-to-offline (O2O) platform, whereby StickEarn provides a full range of support for advertising campaigns run on Grab’s four-wheeled fleet.

“The partnership between StickEarn and Grab Indonesia has been established since our inception, and we have collaborated with 60,000 Grab’s partnering drivers. Our partnership with Grab as the largest online taxi service provider in Southeast Asia is a strategic initiative since it provides a large fleet at a high mobility level,” said Sugito Alim. “So far, 200 units of StickMart have been installed in Grab’s fleet, and we are targeting to install 10,000 units by the end of 2019,” he continued.

“We are excited about our partnership with StickEarn in delivering StickMart as the latest breakthrough and a way to realize Grab’s ‘open platform’ strategy in Indonesia, leading to the first everyday super app in Southeast Asia. Through GrabAds, we are committed to helping our partnering drivers earn a consistent additional income every month while creating more interactive and meaningful engagement between brands and their consumers. This collaboration allows StickEarn to present integrated experience through our widespread network from Sabang to Merauke,” said Ongki Kurniawan, Executive Director of Grab Indonesia. “The collaboration allows brands to run integrated campaigns in achieving their branding and marketing objectives, targeting the right audience.”

In 2017, a report by INRIX, the world transportation research institute, revealed that Indonesians had to spare an average of 40 hours stuck in traffic congestion. In addition, Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded a worsening average car speed in Jakarta in the past one decade; from 16.8 km/h to 5 km/hour, ranking Jakarta in seventeenth place in cities with the worst levels of congestion in the world.

Sugito Alim added, “StickEarn is committed to contribute tangible impacts for the community through solutions that we continue to develop. Having operated for over 1.5 years, we have evolved into a start-up that integrates various solutions to maximize brands’ reach and engagement with their consumers.

Limited activity options during their rides in traffic jams will most likely cause passengers to feel bored, and less energized by the time they reach their destinations. StickMart serves to present a more unique and enjoyable experience of traveling by online taxis while bringing the brands closer to the passengers,” he continued.

Every single out-of-home advertising solution provided by StickEarn always offers advertisers the convenience of managing and monitoring each of their advertising campaigns online via a dashboard that is completed with interactive, detailed reports and tracking tools.

Grab recently announced the launch of Grab Platform as part of its open platform strategy to create the first ‘everyday super app’ in Southeast Asia. Grab will add various most-used daily services in the Grab app, together with the prominent partners like StickEarn through GrabAds, which enables the integration of Grab Platform’s services with Grab.
